Ensure that the student attending e-learning classes or taking an online exam is in fact the enrolled student. At enrollment, Jumio simply asks the student to take a selfie, from which a biometric template is created. When a student attends a class or attempts to take an online exam, they take a fresh selfie, creating a new biometric template that is immediately compared to the original template. This proves with a very high level of assurance that the student logging in is the actual registered student.
The enrollment and authentication process is simple and requires little time to complete. Many students are comfortable with biometric-based processes because similar identity verification tools are used in a growing number of industries including the finance, retail and healthcare sectors.
Given the rise of spoofing (the act of using a photo, video or different substitute for an authorized person’s face), Jumio employs state-of-the-art liveness detection to ensure that the student creating an account, attending a class or taking an online exam is physically present.
