Fraud Detection Suite
Jumio’s team has years of in depth experience in identifying and defending fraud and charge backs. As a result, Jumio has created a state of the art Fraud Detection Suite that sets a list of behavioral measures to detect fraud. These are – for example – the amount of transactions over a certain period of time from the same IP address or the same card. This adds a new level of flexibility to the different status of a credit card payment (authorized, declined or pending).
There’s nothing worse than losing a valid customer. With Jumio, flagged transactions are managed instantly, at the customer’s convenience. Netswipe technology helps to lower the churn rate significantly.
Netswipe includes individually set fraud rules
Jumios fraud rules can be set individually by the merchant. If any of these fraud rules apply, the customer is instantly prompted to take additional security measures, for example a credit card scan. This process is quick, easy to understand and secure.
The customer is automatically connected to our secure credit card scanning page. The payment will be completed in a few seconds. Any valid user will be able to successfully process a payment instantly.
Jumios Fraud Detection Suite – The Rule Set
Please see below the list of fraud rules that can be set individually. If a fraud rule applies the customer will be prompted – depending on the actions selected – to card scanning, id scanning, face scanning or the payment is declined or pending. The amounts displayed are always in the currency of the merchants account.
Set the maximum amount per transaction. If a single transaction exceeds the set amount, the customer will be prompted to scan the credit card.
Set the minimum amount per transaction. If a transaction is lower than the set amount, the payment will be declined.
Set the maximum number of payments that a customer can complete with a single credit card per day. In this setting the fraud rule allows 10 payments with a single credit card per day.
Set the maximum amount a single credit card can be charged with per day. In this case the accumulated sum of all payments with a single credit card cannot exceed 500.
Set the maximum number of transactions a unique device (computer, mobile phone, tablet) can process per day.
Set the maximum amount of charges that can be processed by a unique device (computer, mobile phone, tablet) per day.
Set the maximum number of transactions that can be processed by a unique IP address per day.
Set the maximum amount of charges that can be processed by a unique IP address per day.
Set the maximum number of transactions a single credit card can run per hour.
Set the maximum amount a unique credit card can be charged with per hour.
Set the maximum number of transactions a unique device (computer, mobile phone, tablet) can process per hour.
Set the maximum amount of charges that can be processed by a unique device (computer, mobile phone, tablet) per hour.
Set the maximum number of transactions that can be processed by a unique IP address per hour.
Set the maximum amount of charges that can be processed by a unique IP address per hour.
List IP addresses you are not accepting payments from.
List the countries you do not want to accept payments from (IP to location-based).
Note: A Jumio merchant can set these fraud rules individually. Other than that additional fraud rules set by Jumio apply. Our 24/7 monitoring team is at your service to prevent fraud that might slip through the merchants’ settings.

Jumio’s embedded fraud detection suite allows new, unprecedented instant verifications. Regular fraud management suites are limited to authorize, decline or manual review transactions. Jumio adds the option to request a scan of a credit card to the fraud rule configuration. By applying this functionality, fraud can be reduced to a minimum without keeping a high level of “false positives”. Any valid user will be able to successfully process a payment instantly.
